WOW - what a blessing!!!  The kids that are served, by Making It Better, come from impoverished backgrounds are at high risk for multiple self-destructive behaviors.  The opportunity to be creative, to actually make a scrapbook that was theirs to keep, to be able to think of and see themselves as a child of God worthy of His favor and blessings is something you cannot even begin to put a price tag on or describe!

The Tools 4 Teens program was more than I'd hoped it would be . . . Kelly truly connected with our kids and the material presented was just what is needed for kids at this time in their life.  The scrapbooking aspect was incredible . . . the boys especially surprised us with their creativity and desire to create the pages each week. To conclude with a ceremony wherein they received their very own, personalized copy of Tools 4 Teenswas just the "icing on the cake".  We concluded right before Christmas so the books were presented to them as beautifully wrapped Christmas gifts . . . many asked that I carefully unwrap them so they could see the book but then re-wrap them so they could put them under their tree as a gift to their mothers . . . that touched me deeply.

"Thank you" doesn't seem even remotely adequate to express our appreciation for bringing this program to our kids . . . but, thank you, thank you, thank you Kelly!

"Kelly Litvak’s program, Tools 4 Teens, was a surprising hit with our 6th and 7th graders.  I never would have thought the boys especially would have wanted to scrapbook, but EVERYONE enjoyed and looked forward to the sessions.  No one was too cool to let loose and cut and paste.  The kids loved posing for photos, and were always eager to see the finished products the next week.  It’s surprising what a little attention and love can produce.  We had kids opening up and participating in discussions, and eager to listen and learn – a big step for our students!  And of course they all thought getting their own books was really great.  But underneath all the fun activities and interesting stories, they were learning the truths that Kelly was teaching, and beginning to believe that they are truly each precious and valuable.  Thanks, Kelly, for planting your seeds in our classroom!"

What does this book, "Tools 4 Teens" mean to me? It is an incredible source of wisdom and hope for teenagers, whether they are just wondering how to "make it" during these trying and scary years, or whether they are trying to change their direction. It gives them HOPE?.hope that this will be over someday; hope that they CAN make it; and hope that there is Someone out there who really CARES for them, no matter what.
